How might this kind of work group (in comparison to the current Mastery Programmes), improve leadership of sustainable, school-wide development of Mathematics?

Specific Question:

How can data and pupil voice be used effectively by the SL to focus Mathematics actions and impact?

Summary

The accuracy of what we collect and when, impacts on every aspect of our role; from action planning, CPD impact, school visits and impact of whole school initiatives such as Mastery. For it to be effective, it must ‘inform’, therefore, we will look at the role of data beyond the numerical with a focus on qualitative systems to support day-to-day planning.

It will help you build, reflect, and refine effective data sources and school systems. 

This study was part of the NCETM RIWG Focus I looked at with a group of BBO schools 2022-23.

Wed 31^st Jan 2024 – An Introduction to Data – What? When? Why? 

With a focus on paper sampling (teachers to bring 3-6 maths papers exemplifying the range of attainment in your classroom) – in person at Holy Family Catholic School.

Tues 2^nd July 2024 – Teacher Questionnaires & the role Retrieval Practice in Assessment – Online
