FREE Secondary Head of Department Network with BBO Maths Hub
As you are undoubtably aware the Prime Minister is focussed on developing mathematics education :
As part of this he talked about strengthening the Maths Hubs, we are the hub for your area of the country. We would like to share with you what our remit is, the ways that we can support your school to develop mathematics teaching and learning and most importantly share with you the impact on students motivations and enthusiasm when studying mathematics.
Everything that we offer is funded by the DfE so is free to attend and the programmes with a high level of commitment come with funding towards release time. All of our work group leads have Professional Development Accreditation and they teach using the tried and tested pedagogies that they are promoting in line with the DfE and NCETM’s ideals of effective mathematics teaching and learning.
Why don’t you start by joining our Head of Department network meeting to find out more about what we can offer?
Come and network with other HODs in the area.
22nd May 2023
2pm-5pm
at Wycombe High School.
The focus for the session is:
· Thinking about how to develop adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all pupils in lessons.
· Developing positive pupil mindsets in Maths and reducing maths anxiety along with increasing motivation and independence.
· Sharing our own good practice to develop retrieval in Maths.
· How these factors fit with the Ofsted Inspection framework for Maths
Please bring any examples with you to share of how you do any of the above at your school. You may wish to post any useful material or research into the Basecamp prior then we can all share within the session. If you have not been before, you will be sent a link once you have registered.
Please come and share and learn from other HODs. Feel free to send your second in department if you cannot make it.
