Who can take part?

This programme is designed for teachers in the early stages of their career – specifically those in their second or third year of teaching. Information for Early Career Teachers in their first year – the new Early Career Teacher (ECT) Expertise in Teaching Maths Modules are available to first-year ECTs as a programme that they can work through at their own pace and at a time that suits their schedule.  Please register for these resources via this link. 

What is involved?

This one-year programme supports early career secondary teachers to develop their specialist knowledge for teaching maths, underpinned by the principles of teaching for mastery.

Participants attend the equivalent of four days of professional development across the year, working collaboratively on maths tasks and exploring pedagogy, lesson design and misconceptions. They also complete school-based tasks, contribute to an online community, and reflect with peers and mentors.

• You will develop knowledge that aligns with teaching for mastery and the ITTECF

What is the cost?

The SKTM Secondary Early Career Teachers Programme is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme so is free to participating schools.
