Abha Miller

Abha Miller is the BBO Maths Hubs Lead and Assistant Headteacher at Wycombe High School for Girls since Sept 2017. Prior to this, Abha had taught in range of non-selective diverse state schools in London and the East of England. Abha is a passionate about Mathematics Education and has been teaching for over 25 years. She has held both Mathematics and Senior Leadership positions and is committed to making a difference. Abha obtained her Mathematics degree from Portsmouth and later on her Masters in Mathematics Education from King’s College London. Abha is a member of the Mathematics Association and the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and enjoys developing and nurturing the mathematical experience for students and teachers.   

Lesley Swarbrick

I have taught Maths in Oxfordshire comprehensive schools for 25 years, 10 of which were as Head of Maths. Having changed to working flexibly from September 2017, I now have several different roles. I am the Level 3 Lead for the BBO Maths Hub, responsible for networking with schools and colleges, and offering support for those who offer post 16 Maths courses, and an FMSP associate which involves delivering CPD and enrichment events, as well as organising the Oxfordshire Maths teachers’ network  (coffee and pi). In addition I am a visiting tutor for the Cherwell SCITT, and I volunteer for the UKMT. 

Jo Walker

Jo Walker has been a Mathematics teacher for over twenty years working in a variety of schools.  She is currently Assistant Maths Hub Lead and Secondary Mastery Lead for the BBO Hub and Mastery Specialist at Wycombe High School.  Her role is to lead on developing teaching for mastery in our hub area.  Currently all lessons in KS3 and some KS4 and 5 lessons are taught using a mastery approach at Wycombe High School and she is working with two Mastery Advocate schools and the other Secondary Mastery Specialists in the BBO Hub area to develop a mastery approach to teaching Mathematics within the Hub area.

Jane Liddle

Prior to starting  work at Oxford Brookes University I worked  independently, and was previously employed by Oxfordshire Local Authority as a primary maths consultant, specifically as  consultant lead for the Maths Specialist Teacher programme (MaSt) , and also in a school improvement role.  I have worked with subject leaders , teachers and TAs to support them in developing effective strategies for teaching and learning , and through delivering training matched to schools’ priorities.  I am currently also working as a mastery lead for the BBO Maths Hub .

As a primary teacher I have taught from foundation to year 6 across three counties, in both rural and urban settings, holding a range of posts and subject specific management responsibilities .
